The purpose of this competition is:
To honour the history of the President’s Cup by restoring it’s original use.
To promote and quantify basic accuracy skills.
To provide a low stress entry level introduction to target rifle competition.
To encourage comradery within our membership.
To have fun and enjoy ourselves!
Competition for .22 caliber rimfire rifles with open sights. No .22 magnum, .22 short, .22 long or .22 long rifle only.
No optical or electronic sights. Iron or mechanical sights only.
We will be using a 50 yard range from table positions set up on our rifle range. Chairs and stools permitted, or standing at shooters discretion.
The use of slings will be permitted but no bipods, sandbags or other mechanical supports.
A spotter / coach for the shooter is allowed directly behind each competitor.
To level the playing field and make this extra interesting, any competitor may request the use of any other competitor’s firearm under it’s owners direction and supervision.
Competitor’s entry cards will be randomly drawn from box 1, and paired of to tables 1 thru 4 position 1 or 2 . Competitor’s name and table/position number will be written on targets before target team mounts them.
At range officer’s command, 10 shots will be fired at the targets within 3 minutes.
After range officer’s cease fire command, and clearing of firearms off the line, the target team will retrieve the targets and then mount the next pair of competitors targets.
The targets will be judged and the competitor from each table with the lowest score will recieve an x marked on his card.
In the event of a tie score neither competitor will receive an x.
The cards will then be placed in draw box 2.
If there is only one more card left in box 1 , the opponent will be selected from box 2.
After they shoot their cards will be returned to box 1 subsequent draws will be from box 2 and back and forth as the competition progresses.
This is an elimination match to determine the winners, when a competitor receives 3 x’s on the card, they are out.
Entry fee is $10.00. $5.00 goes to the club. $5.00 goes into the pot. 50% of the pot to first place, 30% of the pot to second place and 20% of the pot to third place. The name of the winner also goes on the President’s Cup.
The top lady and top youth under 18 years of age will also be recognized with an award.
